One of the oldest and most respected manufacturing companies in India, in existence before independent India, and with an employee strength of several thousand, wanted a complete overhaul of its existing IT infrastructure to propel it to the next level of business growth. Having acquired several companies, domestic and overseas, in the recent past, it was critical that their IT environment be able to support and sustain their organic and inorganic growth plans. Currently, their outdated, heterogeneous IT infrastructure cost too much to maintain, and isolated systems did nothing to support employee communication across a geographically dispersed organization. From an employee perspective, the ramifications of a poorly integrated IT infrastructure—inefficient manual processes, inability to communicate and collaborate, and difficulty accessing and using business information to make good decisions—all led to reduced productivity that compromised the company's competitive position in the marketplace.
Our infrastructure team conducted a structured study of their current infrastructure, along with their business strategy to arrive at a comprehensive requirements analysis document. This served as a foundation for their IT roadmap, based on which we embarked on planning and deployment services, across their head office, multiple manufacturing locations and branch offices. An overriding concern from the customer was that there should be no disruption of services to users, and that the overhaul be done in a seamless and transparent manner.
