When you're the most recognized brand in the world, and the No. 1 provider of still and sparkling beverages, you touch the lives of millions of customers every day. Working across hundreds of countries and thousands of locations worldwide means that you need to cater to local tastes and regional preferences, while at the same time holding on to centuries old values and traditions. Two million plus retail outlets in India alone, covering the length and breadth of the country demands a vast network of business locations and the ability to provide access to corporate data and resources to employees working in some of the most remote corners of India. A traditional VPN tunnel solution was causing severe performance issues and user experience complaints. The existing solution could not also meet company security policy requirements, and in the middle of a BYOD policy roll out, this was proving to be a huge burden for their IT.
Apart from providing secure remote access to data to both employees as well as external service providers, our customer also had a thick ERP application, which had to be made available to users across the country without any performance degradation regardless of the location. Their current secure access solution was also based on a deprecated product line, and this needed to be replaced at the earliest. Leveraging our extensive experience as a Citrix Gold Partner and among the first global Specialist Virtualization partners, we proposed Citrix NetScaler as the right solution for their business needs.
We replaced their traditional VPN with the NetScaler client-less VPN, with Receiver based access. This enabled secure, anytime, anywhere access to corporate data for remote users. We also enabled their BYOD policy roll out, as end users could access company data from their mobile phones or home PCs, without compromising on organizational security and compliance policies. The NetScaler gateway also helped their vendor partners to connect to their datacenter, while staying compliant on data security and privacy policies.
In a business model that requires presence across the most remote of locations, a secure remote access solution that minimizes administrative burden, while maximizing end user experience and security, is of the utmost importance. We delivered on this promise with our NetScaler based solution implementation. Our customer's IT team is now able to have granular reports relating to system access, ensuring a comprehensive audit of every single access to business data. Even the most remote locations on the slowest networks have access to LoB applications and files, thus maximizing end user productivity. Reduced WAN traffic has also enabled them to optimize on their networking costs, thus providing for an all-round experience without compromise.
