Quadra’s Solution on AWS

Flatworld were in search of a global Desktop-as-a-Service solution. As a trusted partner, we suggested the DaaS–VDI solution on AWS with high availability, security, and reliability.

AWS provides a low cost, scalable, and highly reliable infrastructure platform to businesses who are looking to manage variable costs and replace high upfront infrastructure investments. AWS was selected not only due to its high global availability and its infrastructural presence in the APAC region, but also because of its development platform that provides a host of services that help bring products to market quickly, reliably, and securely.

Amazon Workspaces enables enterprises to provision virtual, cloud-based Microsoft Windows, Amazon Linux, or Ubuntu Linux desktops for users, known as Workspaces. Workspaces eliminates the need to procure and deploy hardware or install complex software. One can quickly add or remove users as needs change. Users can access their virtual desktops from multiple devices or web browsers.

The Amazon Workspaces provides the right virtual workspace for varied worker types, especially hybrid and remote workers. Improve It offers improved IT agility and helps maximize user experience, while only paying for the infrastructure that is being used. Enterprises can accelerate their journey to the cloud with a consistent management and end-user experience across hybrid VDI deployments.

Technical Solution

To begin with, a VPC was setup by providing a different subnet in different availability zones, having a NAT gateway for private subnets and an open internet gateway for the public subnets. A Site-to-Site VPN was established to have a secured tunnel connection from the on-premises to AWS cloud network and to take an RDP for the domain controller and file server instances. After setting up the network and domain controller we used an AD connector to connect it with domain and launch the workspaces.
