Veero Metals running their SAP ECC Infrastructure in the Private Cloud datacenter where they are facing frequent downtime and performance issues. The SAP servers was hosted in the shared infrastructure and the servers are always hitting the 100% resource utilization and issue reported is been not addressed for long time. Resource provisioning is a bigger challenge and it was not self-achievable, and the hosting provider dependency made delay to business operations. Front line security for the applications are not up to the mark, The VAPT reports and mitigations given is not addressed for long time. Also facing challenges with the support services and found long pending responses and resolution. There is no visibility of server usage and monitoring facility available and always the public IPs are getting block listed which causing delay to access the SAP application server.

Our customer had been with us for a long time and had benefitted from our consultancy services. When they approached us for a long-time solution, our technical team started with analysing the SAP infrastructure, Security posture, resiliency, scaling capabilities, Networking, the DNS service challenges, storage availability and end-user experience. Our tech team also discussed with the SAP team and understood the architecture and components in detail.

Our technical consultants decided that Amazon Web Services offered the most technically sound and commercially viable solutions to the challenges that our customer was facing. We recommended to migrating the current SAP landscape to SAP certified instances at AWS Cloud Mumbai region. Our solutioning team has designed a secure and reliable architecture for all server and necessary components in the AWS cloud. SAP database server hosted in SUSE Linux Enterprise server EC2 instances and the application severs are hosted using the windows 2019 EC2 instances and SAP components servers are configured. Increased Security and user experience while accessing the SAP application by integrating the citrix gateway solution. The solution also incorporates Disaster recovery for the production server by tanking AMI snapshots and Database backup in to the S3 storage and kept readily in different AWS region.

SAP Landscape running seamless without any downtime and committed performance, the end-user’s complaints on SAP issues are drastically reduced to the IT and SAP team. The previous infrastructure Instance provision support will take more than a week time and required lot of follow-up to get this done and now Vero metals has the flexibility to provision their resources quickly as per their business demand. Configured the Infrastructure with Security best practices and validated by running AWS Trusted Advisor, Before AWS there is no transparency and tool to check the Security status of the infrastructure. AWS CloudWatch and SNS services had been enabled for monitoring and alerting usage of production servers. AWS System Manager used for automated patching the windows instance, It will run on weekly once in the scheduled maintenance time. SAP Infra was running earlier without any DR and recovery plan and now the AMI and Snapshots are configured to recover the infrastructure within 30 mins RPO and 1 Hour RTO as per the requirement.
